Gnorman the Gnome Learns to Share

Gnorman the gnome loved his forest home. One sunny morning, he went for a walk. "Oh, look!" he cried. He found a bush full of big, red berries. Gnorman picked them all and put them in his little basket. He felt so happy! "Yummy berries for me!" he chirped.

Suddenly, his friend Squeaky the squirrel hopped near. Squeaky looked at the basket. His eyes were big and round. "Squeak! Berries?" Squeaky asked. Gnorman hugged his basket tight. "No, Squeaky," he said. "These are all for me!" Squeaky looked very sad and scurried up a tree. Gnorman felt a little bit sad too.

Gnorman sat by himself. The berries did not taste as good anymore. He thought about Squeaky. "Hmm," he said. "Maybe sharing is better." Gnorman ran to the tree. "Squeaky! Come down!" he called. Squeaky hopped down. Gnorman gave Squeaky half of his berries. Squeaky squeaked with joy! They ate the yummy berries together. Then they played hide-and-seek. Sharing made them both very, very happy.
